DETECTED “…as it says in John chapter three, verse sixteen…”

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Features

Your best volunteer, every single service

Built for the sound booth: plug in, press start, and the Word shows up on time — every time.

🎙️

Hears references and quotes

“John chapter three, verse sixteen” — or just reciting the verse itself. Bible Detect catches explicit references and quoted scripture, even ranges like “verses four through seven.”

📖

Knows which version they’re reading

Quotes are matched against every bundled translation at once. If your pastor reads from the KJV, the KJV goes on screen — automatically.

🔒

Private and fully offline

Speech recognition runs on-device with Apple silicon. No cloud, no API keys, no audio ever uploaded. Bad venue Wi‑Fi is not your problem.

🎛️

Made for the sound booth

Take a clean feed straight from your mixing console over USB. A guided setup assistant verifies your audio before Sunday, not during it.

🖥️

Operator console + clean output

You see the live transcript, detections, and controls. The congregation sees only a beautiful verse — dark or light.

📡

Shows up anywhere you need

Cover a projector or second display, float it in a window on your screen, or send it over your network to ProPresenter, OBS, or a video switcher with NDI®.

🕘

Service history

Every verse displayed in every service is saved. Review what was preached, or re-show any passage with one click.

How it works

Set up once. Ready every Sunday.

If you can plug in a USB cable, you can run Bible Detect.

1

Connect your audio

Plug your soundboard or USB interface into the Mac and pick it in the guided setup.

2

Press Start listening

Bible Detect transcribes the service live, entirely on the Mac.

3

Verses appear

Every reference and quote shows up on screen in about two seconds.

Two apps, one job

The booth runs a Mac. The preacher carries a phone.

Both are free, both work offline, and both put scripture on screen the moment it’s spoken.

🖥️

Privacy

Your congregation’s words never leave the building.

Bible Detect listens so it can serve the room — not to collect it. Everything happens on your Mac. Here is exactly what does, and does not, happen to your service’s audio.

Transcribed on your Mac. Speech recognition runs on-device using Apple silicon. The audio is turned into text right there on the machine — never streamed to a server.

Nothing is uploaded, ever. No cloud, no account, no API keys, no analytics. The app makes no internet requests at all — updates arrive through the App Store like any other app.

No voiceprints. No AI training. We never build a biometric profile of anyone’s voice, and nothing said in your services is ever used to train a model or sold to anyone.

Your history stays yours. Saved transcripts and service history live only on your own device, and you can delete any of them — or all of them — whenever you like.

Even the network output is local. The optional NDI video feed sends the verse to other machines on your own network only. Nothing crosses the front door.

Translations

Seven translations. Zero licensing headaches.

All bundled, all offline, all public domain — with automatic version detection so the screen always matches the pulpit.

FAQ

Questions

What does it need to run?

On Mac: Apple silicon running macOS 26 or later, and any audio input — the built-in microphone works, but a feed from your soundboard via a USB interface sounds best. On iPhone: iOS 15 or later, using the phone’s own microphone.

Does it need internet at church?

No. Speech recognition, the Bible text, and verse matching all run entirely on the Mac. Nothing is uploaded, ever.

Is anything recorded or stored in the cloud?

Nothing is stored in the cloud. Speech is transcribed on your Mac, and saved transcripts and service history stay on that machine — deletable anytime. There are no voiceprints, no data is used to train AI, and nothing is ever sold or shared. See the Privacy section for the full picture.

What about NIV, ESV, and other modern translations?

Those are copyrighted and require publisher licensing, which we’re pursuing. Meanwhile the Berean Standard Bible (BSB) is bundled — a genuinely modern translation that entered the public domain in 2023.

Where does the verse show up?

Wherever you want it. Connect a projector or second display and it covers that screen; on a single display it opens as a window you can place anywhere. You can also send it over your local network to ProPresenter, OBS, or a video switcher using NDI — so it drops straight into the video setup you already run. On iPhone, the phone screen itself is the display.

What if it detects the wrong verse?

You’re always in control: the operator console shows every detection with its confidence, one click blanks the screen, and a search box displays any passage manually.

Can I use it on my own, not just at a church?

Yes. Bible Detect is built for the sanctuary, but it works just as well for personal study, a home group, or following a sermon or podcast — verses appear as you listen, and you keep the transcript, key points, and a summary afterward. Same app, same on-device privacy.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. Bible Detect is free on the App Store for both Mac and iPhone — no subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads, and no account to create. All seven translations and every feature are included.
